Position Summary:
Our Respite Center supports children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This leadership role is perfect for someone who enjoys mentoring staff, solving problems, staying organized, and creating a safe, engaging environment for participants.

As the Assistant Manager, you'll work alongside the Respite Manager to coordinate weekend respite services, support Direct Support Professionals, communicate with families, and ensure quality care for the individuals we serve. When the Respite Manager is unavailable, you'll step into a leadership role, overseeing program operations and serving as the on-call leader during weekends.

Pay Rate: $23.25/hour

Part-Time: 20-30 Hrs. - Friday 5-11, Saturday 8 hours, Sunday 8 hours when the Respite Center is open.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with the day to day operation of the Respite Center.
  • Provide leadership and support to Direct Support Professionals and Lead Staff.
  • Help create staff schedules and coordinate activities and meals.
  • Foster a fun, safe, and engaging environment for participants.
  • Communicate with families regarding participant successes, concerns, and program updates.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and crisis situations.
  • Ensure documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with agency policies.
  • Assist with staff orientation, coaching, and performance management.
  • Administer medications as trained and required.
  • Help maintain compliance with safety procedures, emergency drills, and program standards.
  • Work within established budgets and assist with program planning and preparation.
  • Serve as the on-call leader during weekends when the Respite Manager is unavailable.

What We're Looking For:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Three years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • At least one year of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements:

This position is active and hands-on. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting participants with mobility and personal support.
  • Lifting and transferring individuals when necessary.
  • Pushing wheelchairs and securing mobility devices in agency vehicles.
  • Driving large passenger vans to community activities.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds and performing frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
